Vivek Oberoi generated a lot of comments and jokes when he attended the swearing in ceremony of the 15th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The fact that Salman Khan, who Vivek is not in great terms with, was also present at the same event, made it all the more amusing for the social media world who went berserk with Vivek jokes.
In an interview to Hindustan Times, Vivek talked about his closeness with Mr Modi and how he fondly addresses him as 'Narendra Bhai'. He said, "I fondly call him Narendra bhai. I congratulated him and told him that he has given hope to the people who dream of a new beginning. He thanked me and said, ‘Every Indian is with me in this dream'."
Vivek also added that he interacted with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well. He said, "He (Nawaz Sharif) told me that 95% of his country’s population had backed his decision to come to India for the ceremony. They genuinely want peace and were looking forward to this, hoping that it leads to a better future for both countries."
Vivek also tweeted about his experiences. He wrote, "Nawaz Sharif said to me that he has the support of his people & he hopes to build a longlasting peace with the help of Narendra Modi."
When asked about the jokes on him doing the rounds, Vivek mentioned that he was not aware of it as he was busy with back to back meetings.
